It’s Monday, January 5th and I imagine this is the “real” start to the new year for most people.  It’s back to work, back to the routine, and things settle on out from here.  I’ve heard rumblings, from friends, about how the break seemed a bit long this year.  So even though it’s a rainy Monday morning in Atlanta, I imagine there’s a piece of most people who are happy to be back.

So what now for the likes of people like me?  The freelancers of the world?  Those without a regular gig?  I think the year might start out a little rough but I feel like things will get easier as the year progresses.  I obviously don’t know this for fact but that’s my feeling.  I think once the new year settles in, the new president, and the weather starts to get warmer, that things will begin to look up… even just slightly.  I guess we’ll see.

For me, I have a few things I want to focus on.  I’m gonna leave it at that.  I will remain open to whatever the universe throws my way and I’m, in fact, hoping for some major pitches.  I think it’s going to be a big year for change and possibly even new beginnings.  I think it’ll be that for most people.  I’m open and ready for whatever those may be.

I’ve never been one for new year’s resolutions but I did come up with a few over the last couple of days. Most of them are just fun and only half-serious.  Although, that’s really only because I know I won’t do them.  Still, if I did, that’d be awesome.  Ha.  So I can at least put it out there with a big 2009 “we’ll see.”

I’ll pull those together and get them on here shortly.

Happy New Year.
