I’m proud to say that my mom is a published author. She has a book on Amazon that you should check out! It’s a memoir of her life, told by the fictional character Sadie.
Nine year-old Sadie becomes skilled at injecting heroin into her mother before the State of California takes her away. Finally, her alcoholic father takes 11 year old Sadie and leaves her with his twin brother’s family in a deep pocket of the old south. In spite of rape, abandonment, and physical abuse, Sadie’s innocence is not totally destroyed.
I’m proud of her! Check it out!
Mom used to listen to this every year at Christmas. I heard it the other night at a holiday mixer so, naturally, had to go look it up on YouTube.
Enjoy a bit of Bawwwwwbra for your Howwwwwlidaze, mkay?
I admit it. I’m a huge fan of “So You Think You Can Dance.” I love watching the dancers, envying their talent, and investing in the competition from the outside. (Okay, they’re all pretty hot too.)
Earlier this week I watched one of my favorites (Jakob) dance with my least favorite (Mollee). Jakob is stunning in his dancing. Mollee is, honestly, just flat out annoying. It’s really no fault of her own – it’s mostly her age – but still, not a huge fan of hers.
Anyways, despite all of that, I was pretty moved by a number they did. It was to Vanessa Carlton’s song “Ordinary Day.” The song was released in 2002 but, suddenly, it’s #90 on the iTunes 100 (and moving up). It’s kind of fascinating, the power of television, considering the song is so old… but I guess I wasn’t the only one who went out and bought it after the episode!
Their dance starts at 1:45.
Call me crazy (or maybe it’s because I just got home at 2:40 in the morning) but this picture looked totally weird to me upon first glance. Probably delirium, I know…
I was just sent this. It’s Senator Diane Savino speaking on the floor of the New York State legislature in regards to the gay marriage vote they just voted on (it didn’t pass). She makes a great argument and I thought you should see it.
Tonight is political party hopping ‘nite! Not in terms of Democrat to Republican (would never happen) but in terms of all candidates left in the various Atlanta run-off elections. That includes the mayor’s race, City Council President, and Post 2 At-Large.
I shall post pics and report from the field as we go. Follow me on Twitter at kyleteevee for the juicy details (and the free food and wine).
I'm a guy in Atlanta with a blog, a video camera, and a library of a whole lotta randomness. I've been known to stalk a rock star or two. Or to sneak my way into Fashion Week. Or to bob for pig's feet among Rednecks. Whatever it is, I'll probably be breaking the rules and having a lot of fun doing it.
