Guess who’s next in line for a hurricane name???

This is courtesy of my buddies over at The Weather Channel.  I sorta hope it turns out to be a bang and not a whimper. Although, I’m sure some would already claim they’ve experienced Hurricane Kyle this year.  Heh.

So I don’t know about you all but this whole financial crisis slash bailout has me pretty freaked out.  Have you read about this in more detail?  Are you not freaking out?  It’s also a bit outrageous what they’re proposing to do.  How about instead of bailing out Wall Street you help bail me out?  Or my parents?  Or a lot of other people I know who are struggling….

I have a lot to share on this, by way of personal example, as I’m one of those “sub-prime mortgage holders.”  It’s all a rather fascinating time in the world of Kyle, the world, and finances… but I’m hoping for the best.  I may or may not decide to share this with the world.  I’m still trying to suss up how real down n’ dirty I want to get on this thing.  But just know that in the meantime donations will be GREATLY APPRECIATED.  Heh.

One interesting tidbit of news is I’ve reconnected with a friend from way back.  John Dunning.  He found me on Facebook.  I knew him when I lived in London and we had some crazy times.  He’s a South African bloke and I spent 3 weeks with him once there.  We travelled around, saw some tigers, hung out with his friends, drove into the countryside, and even ended up smoking with some Africans in their huts (a Zulu village somewhere between Johannesburg and Durban).

Anyways, I’m going to get some pictures out and scan them.  Maybe tell a few stories.  I’ve still got DNC/RNC editing to do, a job to find (help?), a financial bailout of my own to manage, and a billion other things on my list.  I still promise to keep it comin’ though.

Alessandro was here just over 12 hours.  He arrived from Nashville last night, via bus, around 8pm.  This morning he left for his walking tour of Atlanta that will put him back at Greyhound by 6:45pm.  He’s headed to Miami next for 3 days on the beach and then he’s headed back to Italy!  He’s been traveling for 2 months, all by bus (lord help him), and has seen this entire country.  I’ll cut/paste his couchsurfing list below the video.

Anyways, he was a nice guy.  I sent him off with a banana and a hangover.  There’s not much to the video but we didn’t have a lot of time….

Last night Martha had a photo shoot with Peter Bahouth.  He’s doing a series of photographs themed “Sadie’s Choice” and it’s built around women making their own choices and such.  He’s photographing women in settings and situations they choose.

Last night he met Miss Martha – uber-fabulous pimptress extraordinaire – and they did a shoot at “Studio 1113.”  Check out the making of:

Peter’s photographs are quite amazing.  They’re presented in 3-D and you look through this little thing to see them.  They look incredible!  Everything he does is truly worth seeing.

Exhibiting in the same show is my friend Jan von Holleben from Berlin.  He’s awesome and his work is quite inspiring.  He does a “Dreams of Flying” series that will be part of the exhibition.

I encourage you all to come to the opening.  It’ll be good fun.  
(And I’ll make sure Martha & boys come in costume.)

So check out this video my buddy Jason shot and Martha helped work on.  They got mad skillz.  It was shot primarily at my buddy Tony D’s place, in my backyard a little bit (it’s still fuct up from the hole they dug to bury cute-chic in, ahem), as well as a neighbor’s horse farm up near my parent’s place.  It looks pretty fantastic, I say.
