I have faith in fortune cookies. I know they’re just random messages picked by random people after ordering Chinese food but I’m sorta convinced that the fortune I pick is “meant” for me. I invite the serendipitious wisdom into my life! Unless, of course, it doesn’t apply and them I’m like, “stupid cookie!”
Tonight I ordered some Chinese food and picked up the first cookie I looked at (there were two in the bag). I instantly connected with it, as I do with every fortune cookie I see first. This was my cookie.
Upon opening, there were 5 fortunes in there! Nice! So this is what’s in store for me….
So, I’ll keep you posted.

Oh my god, if you do nothing else today – or this month – watch this video. It’s the January episode of kyle.tv! Le Sexoflex at the Dollywood Auditions!
These guys are a folk band from my hometown of Chicago, Illinois. They generally play shows throughout the Midwest and aren’t really well known outside of those states. Notably, they played the 2007 and 2008 SXSW Music Festival and were featured in a Pabst Blue Ribbon advertisement in The Onion. Maps & Atlases have two official EPs out and they released their full length LP entitled Perch Patchwork in June of 2010.
Here’s a track off their LP! Dig it!
We’re halfway through January but still have some great shows coming up. Here’s where you’ll find me.
Okay, not really… but I am featured in their “Creative Eye” section. Give it a read!
SCOUT: Your first memory making video?
Kyle: Until PJ Harvey changed my life, I’d only made videos on my mobile phone that I was sure to delete right afterwards.
I'm a guy in Atlanta with a blog & a video camera. I've got a crew of friends who like to help me out, whether it's sneaking into NYC's Fashion Week, Bobbing for Pig's Feet at the Redneck Olympics, or just knowing what's going on around Atlanta. Check in, watch some videos, & see what's up. Or sign up & get involved! Vote on the next kyle.tv episode! Or suggest your own ideas for us! We're up for anything! So who knows what will happen next!
